Bombing Iran, Empty Threats?

How many times has the US threatened to bomb Iran over its nuclear program? Doesn't matter because they're either bluffing or insane. I think it's the latter. Israel has been itching for a strike against Iran while the US is still trying to resolve the issue 'diplomatically.'

There is no issue to resolve, in my opinion. Frankly, I'm sick to death of the US throwing its weight around like a hopped up caveman. You don't want Iran to have nuclear weapons? Too bad. It's not up to the US to decide who can and cannot join the "Nuclear Club."

Honestly, I'm more worried about the US possessing WMDs because it is the only country in the world that has actually used nuclear weapons on civilians. Remember Hiroshima & Nagasaki?

Nobody should have nuclear weapons. Period. Screw the Non-Proliferation Treaty. It's only to stop "rogue" states from developing nuclear weapons. Wonder which countries are recognized as nuclear-weapon states? Well it's none other than the five permanent members of the Security Council. France, US, Britain, China and Russia. None of them have disarmed. That's the end game of the NPT. It's objective is to "...further the goal of achieving nuclear disarmament and ... complete disarmament." I don't believe that will ever happen.

Aside from these five, there are 4 more states with nuclear weapons. They are non-signatories of the NPT.

India, North Korea, Pakistan and Israel.

Israel refuses to confirm or deny a nuclear weapons arsenal. Israel has 80 nuclear warheads, according to SIPRI, which is eight times more than North Korea but still peanuts compared to the US and Russia, whose total warheads are estimated at  7,700 and 8,500 respectively.

Possessing nuclear weapons may be more about a state wishing to appear as a big player in international politics and less about an intention of deploying such weapons. At least I hope so. For everyone's sake.
